Milking the curtains
Nov. 21st, 2008 08:06 amYou must open the curtains every morning on a sunny day, four seasons of the year, or else the heavy fabric strains, bulging with sunlight, leaking radiant filaments out the cracks. It puts me in mind of a cow, swollen udder, impatient to be milked.
I feel as though I do a wonderful thing, parting the curtains in the morning to drink the light of day as it spills its warmth on me.
